Objetivos y competencias:
The European Master in Transnational Trade Law and Finance (EMTTLF) is a semester-based, international, multi-site Programme that offers:
* A formative, problem-oriented, multidisciplinary itinerary with the most advanced competencies of technical and procedural analysis with legal and economic rationality.
* An innovative itinerary in Transnational Trade Law, which aims to develop high level professional competencies and analytical skills, offering a professional and a research track.
This Master aims to:
*
directly respond to an increasing internationalization of the markets;
*
teach international trade law and finance, understood from various perspectives and dimensions;
*
develop a Programme which dissects the relevant legal questions arising from international transactions.

acquire a trans-national perspective. The Programme will have an impact on the continuous formation of the executive and management board of business enterprises. The pertinent benefits will optimize business results, the opening up of companies to the emerging markets, and the maximization of competitive advantages.
*
promote the interdisciplinary and multicultural facets of the Programme, attempting to provide the students with a diversity of working contexts. On one hand, because the students will be pursuing their graduate studies through three distinct but complementary cultural environments: Track 1: Deusto (Spain), Tilburg (The Netherlands), ILF (Germany) or Track 2: Deusto (Spain), Tilburg (The Netherlands), Strasbourg (France). On the other hand because on all the former editions of the master we had around 20 different nationalities of students and we promote this intercultural experience.

equip the learner with the fundamental tools, at an advanced level, to approach complex realities providing them with competencies and all the necessary elements needed to critically analyze a commercial conflict and any trade situation form a European perspective or from an International perspective.

This Master Programme prepares high-level professionals and research personnel in four areas which emerge as particularly adequate and requiring the type of profile developed by this Masters.

Financial institutions, international and European banks
*
Large companies with legal departments with international environments and dealing with foreign companies
*
Business law firms involved in domestic and international corporate and contractual matters
*
Law making international organizations and other IGOs such as the World Bank, UNIDROIT, International Chambers of Commerce, International Court for Arbitration, the World Trade Organization, UNICITRAL, and other world wide organizations
Estructura:
The course contains 120 ECTS credits that the students will follow in two academic years and in three of the four participating institutions. Courses run from September/October to mid-February (1st semester) and from mid-February to June/July (2nd semester).
The Programme offers one year of core courses, which provide the fundamental competencies at an advanced level, needed to be able to confront trans-national trade cases. The itinerary is built in a complementary manner starting with the University of Deusto that will focus on the European set up, and moving forward to a more comparative and worldwide approach in the case of Tilburg.
For the second year three specialization areas are offered: Law and Finances in the Institute of Law and Finance in Frankfurt University and European Business Law and Industrial and Intellectual Property in Strasbourg University.
The Programme presents therefore two important elements:
* The core courses that must be followed by all the students. This part of the Master offers every European or non-European student the necessary tools for the analysis of Trans-national trade operations.
* The specialization in which the students can choose professional or research path.
In addition, students will also be informed about available linguistic and/or other thematic courses at their disposal in the host centres.

SECOND YEAR: SPECIALIZATION
This year gives the students the possibility of deepening their knowledge in three different fields of study: European Business Law, Law and Finance, Industrial and Intellectual Property.
The students, that will be able to choose between the professional and research path, will be divided into three groups (one at the Institute for Law and Finance, and two at the University of Strasbourg).
During this second year, students will have the opportunity to take other courses related with her/his specialization offered by the institutions.
3rd Semester: Options

4th Semester: Research/internship
According to prior experience and future professional paths, master's students will be able to choose the balance between two elements.
The research component aims at professionals able to:
* Elaborate innovative solutions to the problems
* Approach reality with creative thinking
* Analyze data and assess results
The internship component aims at providing a job-oriented track containing a professional and training element, being able to:

carry out work on particular items on the current and future work programmes
*
prepare and take part in the various meetings organized by the international Organizations and conferences.

carry out preparatory work on documentary research and reporting
